OWNERSHIP AND CREDENTIALS PHS Ownership and BBBEE Credentials

Since its formation in 1999, PHS has always been a proud majority black-owned, black-controlled, black-led and managed health entrepreneurial professional services company, in line with the demographics of our rainbow nation. There has always been a significant minority shareholding (38%) by institutional investors, who have added a lot of value to the growing company through skills transfer in areas like corporate governance, financial management as well as sustainable business leadership and management.

Since July 2018, for the 1st time in our company history, following a management buy-out, PHS became a 100% black-owned, majority black led and managed the company, with a Level 1 contributor status from a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) point of view. The latter achievement means that our clients can claim maximum BB BEE points as part of their own preferential procurement annual empowerment rating.
